Futurama: 10 Most Paused Moments
3. The Head Museum (A Head In The Polls)
One of the great recurring gimmicks in Futurama, is how they manage to creatively find a way to have cameos of celebrities and nods (heh) to historical figures by means of The Head Museum. In the future, celebrities are able to live forever as preserved decapitations (great band name) in museums like living works of art. Although on the surface it seems quite dignified, technically they're more like human goldfish.
In the episode A Head In The Polls, we are first introduced to The Head Museum when Bender sells his body for profit and goes there to hang out with other bodiless heads. The museum itself is full of famous names and if you're like me, you spent most of the episode pausing whenever Bender enters the various rooms to get a good look at who the writers deemed worthy to have on display at The Head Museum.
Where we paused: Although, as I mentioned earlier, there are plenty of pausable moments, the best time to hit pause is at 1:45 in the video, as Leela walks past the displays titled Movie Stars and B-Movie Stars. Look out for the hilarious depictions of Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise.
