Futurama: 12 Greatest Bender Episodes
1. Godfellas (S4E8)
Bender Bending Rodriguez is without question the most selfish character in Futurama, and possibly in the entire city of New New York, and even the world. The Robot Devil checked around for robots worse than him, and there just weren’t any.
His morals, outlook on religion, and general attitude towards life were questioned like never before or since in Godfellas, easily the best Bender-based episode of Futurama, and one of the best of the series, period.
While drifting through space after a torpedo accident on board the Planet Express ship, Bender is hit with a meteorite containing tiny life, thus making him a God. He was worshipped as a God, but whether he tried to help, or tried not to help and let his people work out their own issues, he and his followers were seemingly punished.
This gave Bender a whole new respect for the real God, which he actually came into contact with, sort of. The episode is unique in terms of Futurama, and offers some serious thought-provoking questions on life, channelled through its most awful of characters.
