Futurama: 15 Obscure Easter Eggs & References You Probably Missed

5. Klein€™s Beer

In the first scene of The Route of All Evil, Fry and Bender are buying beer from 7/11, and there€™s a few great science jokes in here. As we pan across we see Klein€™s Beer, which is in a Klein bottle. A Klein bottle is a shape that only has one side, as described by German mathematician Felix Klein. It€™s a non-orientable object, kind of like a Möbius strip. Right next to that we have St. Pauli Exclusion Principle Girl Beer, a play both on the actual beer St. Pauli Girl and on the principle of quantum mechanics which says that two identical fermions can€™t occupy the same quantum state at the same time. That€™s quite a lot packed into a five second panning shot of beer.
