If you've ever been a fan of the science fiction genre, then there was a good chance that Futurama would be able to bring a smile to your face. "My Three Suns" plays with a lot of classic sci-fi tropes, with references from everything to the Planet of the Apes franchise and The Twilight Zone. Like any great Futurama episode, it also talks a lot about human feelings and stories. Pride and arrogance seem to always befall humans, which is something that Fry learns quite handily in this episode. That human connection is felt in a lot of Futurama episodes, and "My Three Suns" plays it really nicely here while allowing us to see a deeper bond between Fry and Leela.
47. A Pharaoh To Remember
Subversive humor was always one of Futurama's strong points, and it's used to great effect in "A Pharaoh to Remember". Bender's desire to be remembered plays in a hilarious counterpoint to his outrage at a terrible funeral, equating a new lease on life as being completely awful compared to a great burial. The dangers of hubris, the inability to see life for what it truly is, all of the human things we face are things that Bender goes through in this episode. In a world that feels more like a cheesy casino on the Las Vegas strip than ancient Egypt, Bender learns as much about humility as his circuits will allow him to, and it's all a joy to watch.
