Since a certain pizza delivery boy was first trapped in a freezer tube in Old New York in 1999, Futurama has introduced the world to some great characters. From Fry, Bender, and Leela, to the rest of the Planet Express crew and dozens more throughout every universe, the year 3000 has no shortage of the weird and wonderful.
One of the best perhaps, is none other than Zapp Brannigan. Introduced in the fourth episode of the first season, the Democratic Order of Planets' general instantly won viewers' hearts with his pursuit of Leela and unique pronunciation of the word champagne.
His obsession with the captain of the Planet Express crew has stood the test of time, and is brought up or referenced just about every time Brannigan appears. Whether crash landing a flying restaurant, recovering from losing his job, or going to war with the Brain Balls, Zapp always has Leela on his mind.
