It seemed like there was no possible way that Matt Groening could ever escape the ridiculous success of The Simpsons, with the poor multi-millionaire fella destined to have to return to the antics of Bart Simpsons & Co. for the rest of his days. Then, from out of nowhere, Groening served up a little show by the name of Futurama.

Debuting in 1999, Futurama would prove to be an instant hit; mixing the same style and themes of The Simpsons, but taking them to a space-set future landscape. With a slew of characters who were hilarious but heart-warming, Groening had again struck gold (the bastard!), and we got to indulge in Futurama until it finally, finally called it a day in 2013.
