As a young boy, Philip J. Fry dreamed of becoming an astronaut, but due to an unfortunate case of motion sickness, his dream was never fulfilled. Working as a pizza delivery boy, Fry never really had much hope for his future, and when he found out his girlfriend was cheating on him, he toasted to "another lousy millennium".

Shortly after his toast, Fry accidentally fell into a cryogenic tank and found himself a thousand years into the future. Pretty cool, right? Well, what he thought might be a new, fresh start, quickly turned into him realising that he was destined to be a delivery boy forever!
