Despite its last episode airing in 2013, Futurama has been a mainstay in our TV hearts all the way to present day. For 14 years, Matt Groening and David X. Cohen took us through the animated lives of the 1000-year cryogenically preserved Phillip J. Fry and his eccentric colleagues Bender and Leela. Who'd have thought a show about a human, a robot and a one-eyed mutant could be so entertaining?
Airing on Fox and Comedy Central, the animated sitcom provided something similar to The Simpsons, Groening's other successful show, and is certainly up there with the level of humour and hilarious characters seen in Springfield.
But, if there was any one interplanetary protagonist that has managed to catch the eye of fans since 1999, then that has to be the rough and tough Planet Express ship captain, Leela.
Having spent years watching Bender and Fry closely with her sole eye, the colourful mutant has racked up quite the list of adventures and antics throughout the series. All that said, from her origins through to her little quirks, it's doubtful that every Futurama fan will know all there is to know about Leela...
