Game Of Thrones: 10 Actors Who Were Almost Cast

7. Simon Fisher-Becker

Simon Fisher Baker

Another relatively minor role, the High Septon, though head of the Faith of the Seven, the only accepted religion in the Seven Kingdoms, was played by an extra in his first appearance, appearing in the background of the grisly events that play out on the steps of the Great Sept of Baelor during Season One. When the character appeared in Season Two - just in time to bless the middle Baratheon child before being torn apart by an angry mob - he was played by David Verry, who you may recognize as one of Slitheen from Series 1 of Doctor Who. In any case, he took over the part from Simon Fisher-Becker, similarly recognizable from new Who as plump, blue merchant Dorium Maldovar. Not much of a story behind this one, just apparently one of those things. The primary difference, we imagine, is it would have been, in theory, a different arm that peasant was waving around. http://youtu.be/_N9M4R47nRU?t=1m8s
