Maybe we're all looking at this in the wrong way. 'Game of Thrones' would suggest a struggle for power across the whole land, not necessarily a game for THE throne, and while the show is largely centred around who will earn the right to enjoy the solid, metal chair, it may not even last until the Grand Finale. Daenerys' trip to the House of the Undying revealed several crazy visions, one of which saw the Red Keep in ruin with snow falling through the caved-in roof. Snow, or ash? In my eyes, it's open ended. It's meant to suggest that Winter has finally arrived, but there's always the chance it could be the remnants of a furious, flamed-filled final battle. The Throne may not be of any relevance by the end as the show slowly heads towards a 'Life vs. White Walker' clash, with no clear victor, just destruction. Some of these suggestions may sound far-flung, but let's face it, anything could happen with George R.R. Martin at the helm. Who do you think will reign supreme in the end?
