2. Jon Vs. Daenerys

It's part of a well-known, seemingly logical theory, but it would be amazing to see Jon Snow/Stark/Targaryen going head-to-head with Daenerys in a final battle to decide who could take the realm. A Song Of Ice And Fire. Ice, North, Winter, the Wall, Jon Snow. Fire, Dragons, Targaryen, Daenerys. That logic is sound, but is that the direction George R.R. Martin is taking us? The most fascinating aspect of this matchup would be the obvious point that these are the two main characters who fans obsess over. I think squaring them up to each other with rational support for both of their claims would see an incredible divide between fans. You'd get ardent Jon fans and stringent Daenerys supporters fighting until the end of the show. There would be no set villain, just two characters who you're supposed to like clashing for the first time on screen. It could be an enormous event, and a dream for HBO to sell, but once again, the true power belongs to Martin.
