Game Of Thrones: 10 Moments The Show Could Have Done Better
7. Bran Meets The Three-Eyed Raven
At the end of the fourth season, Bran finally finds the Three-Eyed Raven that has been calling to him ever since he was crippled by Jaime. It turns out that he is actually an old man entwined in the roots of a great weirwood tree. Bran discovers that, through him, he will learn to hone his mysterious powers. This moment is actually a great scene, but the only thing about it that could have been better was the design of the Three-Eyed Raven. The show made him a generic old man, where as in the book he is literally one with the weirwood. He is pale and skeletal, like a corpse. The roots have grown through his body; one of which sticks out of one of his eye sockets. Search for artist renditions and you will find some grotesquely beautiful designs. This was a chance to really get crazy with the design and makeup on the show, but instead we ended up just getting an old man sitting on some roots. It feels lazy and takes away some of the magic of the reveal.
