Game Of Thrones: 10 Moments The Show Could Have Done Better

5. The Death Of Tywin

The death of Tywin Lannister is epic in its indignity. The prideful patriarch of House Lannister dies not by the sword but with his pants down on the privy at the hands of his own son. Like everything else in this story, Tywin's death defies expectations. But as good as his death was on the show, it was missing one element that could have made it so much more emotional: the Tysha reveal. While placed on the backburner on the show, Tyrion€™s history with Tysha is a hugely defining experience for him in regards to his relationship with women. Not only did he find out that the girl he loved was a hired prostitute, but he was then forced to watch her service countless men as a lesson from his father. Before being freed by Jaime, he reveals that she was actually not a whore. This changes everything for Tyrion. It is why he decides to confront and kill his father. Since the show removes this reveal, the context of the moment is different. While the show€™s version of the moment still retains most of its potency, there is no denying that had the show built up to it the same way the books did it would have been incredible.
