The thing is, Petyr Baelish isn't quite as detestable as he once was. This isn't because he's turning over a new leaf or anything, it's just that sometimes dishonesty and subterfuge are useful qualities to have in the Game of Thrones universe. When Littlefinger seduces another unpleasant character, Lysa Arryn, only to push her through the moon door, his negative traits are finally shown in a more utilitarian light. If he could just put his wiles towards bumping off some other despised names, he wouldn't be that bad. You can't say he isn't effective, after all. But before he gets off with it, he is kind of responsible for the death of Ned Stark, and has since bundled Stark's daughter off to marry yet another nutcase in Ramsay Bolton. A brothel owner has to be a bad egg. The accent is a bit grating too. In short, there's work to be done before he redeems himself.
