Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Memorable Moments From Season 8

7. Tyrion Quits As Hand Of The Queen

Tyrion has worked incredibly hard to achieve a better world for the people of Westeros, and he effectively defended King’s Landing during Blackwater. So, when his handiwork is completely undone by Daenerys' excessive burning, he’s pretty upset about it, especially when he finds his two dead siblings amongst the rubble.

He quickly realises that Daenerys would be a disastrous ruler of Westeros. After Daenerys delivers a sinister speech to her followers, Tyrion denounces her publicly by throwing his Hand of the Queen pin down the steps of the Red Keep.

This is a memorable moment because it is one of the few times someone stands up to Daenerys and openly condemns her actions after she’s done something so unforgivable. It’s also quite an emotional moment, since it marks the unfortunate end of a partnership that audiences initially had a lot of hope for, that lasted for over two seasons.

It’s a tension fuelled moment that truly had us biting our nails and holding our breath for Game of Thrones’ most beloved character. As a dramatic moment that provoked a vast range of different emotions, it deserves a spot amongst the most memorable.
