Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Memorable Moments From Season 8

5. Arya Kills The Night King

There had been some speculation about who would be the one to eliminate Game of Thrones’ big bad. Jon was a logical candidate considering that he has the strongest connection to this antagonist. However, Arya being the one to kill him was one of the series’ better received surprises, and it made for a memorably brilliant moment.

After a long battle, it’s not looking good for Winterfell. They are overwhelmed by the dead, Jon is about to be burned by a dead dragon and The Night King has reached Bran. Whilst they have the world’s most intense stare - off, Arya sneaks up behind the Night King, who wasn’t prepared for her stealthy knife drop.

Arya’s been building her combat skills for years, so she obviously had to have one of the biggest and best kills of the season. The predictable one would be to have her eliminate someone on her kill list, but instead, she gets to use her impressive skills to save the world rather than to fuel her destructive need for revenge.

This moment is as surprising as it is awesome, and for that reason it’s one of the most memorable of the season.
