Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Satisfying Moments

6. Tyrion Tells It Like It Is ('The Laws Of Gods And Men')

Game of Thrones Arya
HBO

Epicurean, roue... and hero? Despite being viewed as a profligate imp by just about everyone, Tyrion wins The Battle of the Blackwater for the Lannisters and King's Landing. Despite that, when King Joffrey is poisoned, he's still fingered as the perpetrator. His family, his peers, and even his lover turn against him during his trial.

In the moment when Shae testifies against him (spurred on, in part, by a payoff from Tywin), Tyrion has lost everything. Once again, a woman whom he loved has been turned against him by his father. His worst nightmare has come true. His freedom and his life don't even seem important, comparatively. So he turns on everyone - his family, the court, and the entirety of King's Landing.

In a scathing speech, Tyrion swears that he didn't poison Joffrey - but admits that he wishes he had. He wishes, he says to the assembled in the courtroom, that he "had enough poison for the whole pack of you." It's taken him being brought to his lowest point, but Tyrion has finally had enough; he lashes out at the men and women who have abused him - his family above all - in a moment so deeply satisfying for him and us that it's easy to forget that it ultimately accomplishes nothing. Simply seeing the expressions on the faces of Cersei and Tywin are enough of a revenge for now.
