Game Of Thrones: 10 Reasons Season 6 Will Be The Best Yet
3. The Truth Comes Out
Among those very intriguing casting announcements, book fans and the theorists out there have concluded that we will indeed be witnessing the biggest secret from the series; what really happened at the Tower of Joy. The event took place at the end of the Robert Baratheons rebellion. Robert had killed Rhaegar Taragaryen, Kings Landing had been sacked, and King Aerys was dead. Ned Stark and several other men road to the Tower of Joy to free Neds sister, Lyana, whose abduction by Rhaegar caused this war in the first place. Of course, the tower was guarded by several members of the Kingsguard, including legendary knight, Ser Arthur Dayne. A fight broke out between the two opposing sides, leaving everyone but Ned and Howland Reed dead. Its unclear how Lyana died during the battle, but we know her dying words to her brother were, Promise me, Ned. There have been theories as to what happened at the tower and what those final words meant since it was revealed in Martins first novel. There is one theory that, above all others, seems to make the most sense. This theory is further legitimized by the fact that the show seems to have made several hints to it. If this is indeed the truth that will be revealed, it will be the biggest game changer in the entire series and its implications will ripple through the rest of the show. If youve been lucky enough to avoid the theories on this matter, do yourself a favor; stay in the dark and get ready to be blown away.
