Game Of Thrones: 10 Theories That Turned Out To Be Bulls*it

9. Thoros Brought Back Catelyn

Not that it seems we're ever going to see it happen on the show (damn you, Weiss and Benioff!), but readers of the book and also pretty much anyone who has looked at anything GoT-related online in the last year will know that Catelyn Stark, most recently seen having her throat opened at the Red Wedding, comes back to life. Or at least a sort of life, as the speechless, haunting, reanimated corpse that is Lady Stoneheart. When she first appeared, at the end of A Storm Of Swords, it was assumed - once the 'HOLY S*IT!' reaction had worn off, anyway - that Thoros of Myr had brought her back. After all, she was with the Brotherhood Without Banners, and it was well-established by this point that Thoros could bring people (or at least Beric Dondarrion) back from the dead. However, as revealed at the end of A Feast For Crows, it wasn't actually the Red Priest who performed the resurrection, with him telling Brienne:
"The Freys slashed her throat from ear to ear. When we found her by the river she was three days dead. Harwin begged me to give her the kiss of life, but it had been too long. I would not do it, so Lord Beric put his lips to hers instead, and the flame of life passed from him to her. And... she rose. May the Lord of Light protect us. She rose."
