Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Blood Of My Blood'

5. Dinner With The Tarlys

Game of Thrones Randyll Tarly
HBO

The most awkward dinner since Sansa dined with Roose and Ramsay Bolton, Sam goes back to Horn Hill this week to take Gilly to live with his family.

It goes about as well as he might've expected, really: his mother and sister are lovely, Dickon lives up to his name, and Randyll Tarly is the exact kind of horrible bastard who forces his son to renounce his birthright and join the Night's Watch.

It's painful to watch as he tears apart both his son and Gilly, and even worse is the way Sam just sits there and takes it - even wanting another bread roll, but then refusing it after Randyll's comments about his weight. Thankfully Gilly does stand up to him, and a very likeable character only gets more likeable as she defends Sam's honour, and burns Randyll and Dickon in the process.
