Game Of Thrones: 10 Ways Season 5 Spoilt The Winds Of Winter

3. No Aegon VI...

Griff and Young Griff are two of the big new additions to the story in A Dance with Dragons, first appearing on Tyrion€™s journey to meet Daenerys, and then heading off to Westeros. The reason they€™re seemingly so important is because Young Griff is actually Aegon VI Targaryen, nephew of Prince Rhaegar and a claimant to the Iron Throne.

When Tyrion was headed to Meereen, it seemed that at some point Aegon was going to be introduced, but it never happened. For many, this is just further confirmation that the character is actually a fake - 'Faegon' - and that his story will eventually reveal that in The Winds of Winter.

Aside from his absence, there€™s also the fact that Varys killing Maester Pycelle and Kevan Lannister doesn€™t happen in the show. In the books he does this to help weaken the position of the Lannisters and strengthen Aegon€™s claim, but in the books he is in Meereen and supporting Daenerys, which suggests that the claim of Aegon will ultimately come to nothing.
