Game Of Thrones: 10 Ways Your Favourite Characters Could Die
10. Samwell Tarly
Sam and Gilly are set for a long, wandering storyline during Season 6, unless the writers 'do a Bran' and omit them altogether. That seems unlikely, so don't expect their journey to be without incident. Sometimes the show doesn't always give an accurate look at the scale of the world, a very tricky element to portray. Robert Baratheon's trek from King's Landing to Winterfell actually took several months to complete, though that was down to the fact that he took an enormous party with him. Sam and Gilly face an even longer journey, with a small baby, without any defences, on a wagon. Castle Black is far further north than Winterfell, and Oldtown is tucked away in the very south west corner, an age away from King's Landing. For that reason, the odds are stacked heavily against Sam, with any number of suitors ready to carve him up. They may well reach Oldtown relatively unscathed, and his maester training will be intriguing, but Sam will be passing directly near Horn Hill, the Tarly's land. His father Randyll is a fierce warrior and abandoned his son for cowardice even threatening to kill him. If Sam suddenly rolls by with a lady and a baby, hundreds of miles away from the Wall, Randyll could wield the sword on his own son, with Gilly and Little Sam's futures also thrown into doubt.
