Melisandre is an all-round awful person. If she's not sucking royal blood out of innocent young children, she's busy reaping the harvest with assassin shadow monsters. Okay, so she was probably justified in killing Renly to prevent a war, but she convinced a man to kill his beloved daughter, driving his wife to suicide in the process. Yet despite all of that, everyone's loving the fact she's still alive long enough to probably raise Jon Snow from an icy grave. Melisandre's visions warped Stannis, the one man in Westeros with a true claim for the crown, and while she's proven to have some sort of power, her authority led Stannis' men into destruction at Blackwater Bay, then again outside of Winterfell.
