5. Quaithe Remains A Huge Mystery

One of the people who breathes some life into the Qarth storyline is Quaithe, a mysterious shadowbinder from Asshai, who we know little about beyond that brief summary.

With a mask covering her identity, Quaithe speaks largely in riddles - and yet, a lot of what she says has come to pass. She tells Jorah: "Jorah the Andal. This man must sail past Old Valyria. All who travel too close to the Doom must have protection." Of course, in Season 5, Jorah would indeed sail past Old Valyria without protection, and end up contracting greyscale.

Her bigger prophecy didn't make it into the show, but she still exists as one of the most enigmatic figures we've ever encountered. And while other mysterious characters have developed over time - we've learned much more about Melisandre, for example, and even White Walkers - Quaithe was only in Season 2. There's still so much we don't know about her, and while it's highly unlikely we'll see her again, she remains a major mystery.
