Game Of Thrones: 13 Things You Learn Rewatching Season 1

10. Doreah Foreshadows Dragonglass And Faceless Men

There's not a great deal memorable about Doreah, one of Daenerys' handmaidens. Not that she's a bad character by any means, but she obviously isn't a real focal point.

The exception to that comes in her steamy scene with Viserys, where she tells him of things she's seen, including: "A man from Asshai with a dagger of real dragonglass... a man who could change his face the way that other men change their clothes. And... a pirate who wore his weight in gold and whose ship had sails of coloured silk."

At the time, these fanciful things she speaks of mean nothing to viewers. Looking back, though, we can see they're highly significant. Dragonglass is now one of the most important materials in Westeros, since it can kill White Walkers. The changing faces refer to the Faceless Men, who have played a huge part in Arya's story. The pirate most likely refers to Salladhor Saan, who admittedly hasn't played a key role, but is from Lys like Doreah. It could be a reference to Euron (the pirate) bringing the Golden Company to Westeros (weight in gold), which is going to happen in Season 8, but that's a major stretch.

Not only have two of those things at least become very important, but all three (if we say the pirate is Saan) were introduced in Season 2. That's some brilliant foreshadowing.
