11. Jon & Ygritte Is Much Better Than Jon & Daenerys

Game of Thrones likes to shock and enthral us with scenes of violence, gore, and murder, but it also has a real romantic side too. That's been explored from the ones started before the show did, like Ned and Catelyn, to the ones that've developed over time, such as Sam and Gilly.

Few are better, though, than Jon and Ygritte, which goes from the pair being on warring sides to becoming star-crossed lovers, with the pinnacle of that being the sex scene in the cave and then their kiss atop the Wall.

What makes the pairing so good is just how much chemistry they have (it's no surprise Kit Harington and Rose Leslie ended up getting married), and how great is Ygritte is anyway, capable of bantering Jon off but at the same time displaying real affection towards him. Their pairing is incredibly sweet and funny, yet also sharp and results in real pain too. Jon and Daenerys have shown decent enough promise, but watching Season 3 back you do realise just how much better he and Ygritte were, and that they were the ones meant to be together.
