Game Of Thrones: 18 Most Outrageous Moments So Far

10. Twincest Rape

Game Of Thrones OMG
HBO

By season 4 we had all grown accustomed to the twincestuous relationship of Jaime and Cersei Lannister, even kinda realising that maybe they do belong together, because this is what Game of Thrones does to you: a brother and sister having a sexual relationship is just by the by.

However, when the siblings are alone together after Joffrey’s death, next to the tomb of their murdered son, Cersei tells Jaime she wants nothing more to do with him. Cue the Kingslayer forcing himself upon her, and eventually raping her.

In the books it is seen only from Jaime’s point of view, and is thus a little more ambiguous, but despite what the director has said it comes across on TV as rape, uncomfortable to watch and undoing some of the great work they’d done with Jaime’s character up until that point.
