Game Of Thrones: 25 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References You Need To See

17. Wun Wun

Hardhome was a huge episode of Game of Thrones, not least because we got to see a giant stomping the hell out of some wights. We even get a mention of his nickname, Wun Wun. This is what€™s he€™s called in the books, a nickname given to him by Leathers, a character who hasn€™t appeared in the show. It€™s also a reference to George R.R. Martin€™s beloved American football team, the New York Giants. He€™s slipped other nods into the books, with The Life of Triarch Belicho pointing to the Giants€™ Super Bowl victory of the New England Patriots, and Wun Wun is named after their number 11 Phil Simms.
