17. Wun Wun
Hardhome was a huge episode of Game of Thrones, not least because we got to see a giant stomping the hell out of some wights. We even get a mention of his nickname, Wun Wun. This is whats hes called in the books, a nickname given to him by Leathers, a character who hasnt appeared in the show. Its also a reference to George R.R. Martins beloved American football team, the New York Giants. Hes slipped other nods into the books, with The Life of Triarch Belicho pointing to the Giants Super Bowl victory of the New England Patriots, and Wun Wun is named after their number 11 Phil Simms.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
