Game Of Thrones: 4 Spin-Offs HBO Should Make (& 3 They Shouldn't)

Game of Thrones is, sadly, coming to an end soon. I say sadly because it's been such a great series, but at the same time it's excellent they're going out on their terms, telling the story the way they want to. And, if things go as expected, there'll be very few survivors.

As far as the main characters of the show go, then, that should be the end of them. We have seen one brilliant series take a supporting character and give him his own almost equally brilliant show quite recently, with Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul, and there'd no doubt be the temptation to show more of an already familiar and popular character from Westeros.

But whose journey would be worth following over the course of a series (or even just a season)? The biggest changes and events in these characters' lives have played out on-screen, or at least we already know about them, so anything set before would have a hard job of carrying the required weight (and indeed avoid bigger storylines). Depending on how it ends the future is a possibility too, but where these characters are concerned it's best if their story ends with the end of Game of Thrones, and anything in the future - should that happen, and I'm not really sure it should - be around a new generation. We'll have spent eight seasons with some of these, and while others had a shorter lifespan (read: Oberyn Martell), it's probably time for something new.
