Game Of Thrones: 5 Major Book Changes From "The House Of Black And White"
4. Jaime Goes To Dorne
On The Show: When a death threat for Myrcella arrives in King’s Landing and Cersei’s panic begins to rise, Jaime decides that he will travel to Dorne and bring his daughter home himself. Before setting sail, he drops by Stokeworth to recruit former sellsword Bronn away from blushing bride-to-be Lollys and join Jaime for the journey.
In The Books: Following the death of Tywin, Jaime departs King’s Landing and travels to treat with Edmure and Brynden Tully and end the siege on Riverrun. Whilst in the riverlands, he is approached by a Brienne who claims to have located Sansa Stark. Unbeknownst to him, Brienne is being coerced into luring Jaime into a trap set by Lady Stoneheart and the Brotherhood Without Banners.
What It Could Mean: When last seen in the books, Jaime’s fate was very much up in the air. With Lady Stoneheart and the Brotherhood killing every erstwhile Frey that wanders into their midst, it is unlikely that the Jaime Lannister who reportedly sent his regards at the Red Wedding would receive any mercy. As the action in the riverlands seems to have seriously diverged from the plots of the books, it seems that Jaime may not be losing his life to Lady Stoneheart after all.
