Aryas Faceless (wo)Man training gathered some real pace this week, after sitting out during the previous episode, The Gift. Two weeks ago we saw her being introduced by Jaqen Hghar to the House of Black and Whites Chamber of Faces, and this week we see her trying on one of those new identities (not literally) as Lana, who sells oysters arounds the ports of Braavos. This is her first assignment on the road to becoming an assassin. The target: the Thin Man, a gambler without honour, who takes advantage of the needy. Arya/Lana is now ready to give him a gift, a vial of poison. Surely a nice pair of socks wouldve been preferable. So Arya is leaving behind her identity, but will it be for good? With Meryn Trant still likely to show up in Braavos at some point, there will be sterner tests to come of her ability to become no one, especially with Needle still hidden away, but for now shes doing a pretty good job.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
