Game Of Thrones: 6 Ways [Spoiler] Could Have Survived The Season 5 Finale

3. He Joins The Others

That last line about Jon from A Dance of Dragons: €œHe only felt the cold€€ Clearly this is set up as a cliffhanger as to whether he is actually dead or not, but it could well have another meaning as well. It€™s known that when the White Walkers come everything goes cold, so this could be signifying that they€™re going to be attacking The Wall at the beginning of The Winds of Winter. Obviously a full-scale Walker attack on the Night€™s Watch would be huge, and one that would probably make them regret killing their Lord Commander, who has some experience in that area. Given we know that they have the ability to raise the dead, could they then bring Jon back in some sort of zombified form? It€™s a possibility, although admittedly a very slim one. The rules of creating a fully-blown White Walker haven€™t been too clearly established. It€™s believed that only babies can be turned, but perhaps there are exceptions or other ways they can turn someone - that would lead to the possibility of Jon joining the Others, which would be a huge twist on what the Ice and Fire really means. It€™s arguably the least likely explanation, but Martin and the showrunners love to subvert expectations.
