Game Of Thrones: 8 Moments That Foreshadowed SPOILER'S Death
8. The God Of Death/Faceless Men Training
Going all the back to Season 1, we can find the beginnings of Arya's journey to defeating the Night King. Upon arriving at King's Landing, she is trained by Syrio Forel to 'water dance', and in the process, say 'Not today' to the God of Death. It's a line that Melisandre calls back to here, for what is the Night King, a man who controls the dead, if not a literal God of Death?
He's also the one who taught her to be: "Swift as a deer. Quiet as a shadow. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Quick as a snake. Calm as still water." All of those attributes came into play during THAT moment.
That's something reflective of Arya's transformation into a warrior: she's had great teachers, and learned from all of them. The training with the Faceless Men pays off here too: all that time spent becoming a killer, all those seemingly endless scenes of mopping, fighting the Waif, and tending to dead bodies in Seasons 5 and 6, all to make the ultimate kill.
And, if we're talking Season 1 lessons, there are none more pertinent than, quite simply, "stick 'em with the pointy end."
