2. Aegon And His Sisters

Back in Season 2, we got one of Game of Thrones' greatest ever character pairings: Tywin Lannister and Arya Stark. The duo's conversations were as illuminating as they were tense, and provide us with a clue as to why Arya, not Jon, is the one to kill the Night King. Tywin tells her of Aegon Targaryen conquering Westeros, to which Arya replies:

"Aegon... and his sisters. It wasn't just Aegon riding his dragon, it was Rhaenys and Visenya too... Rhaenys rode Meraxes and Visenya rode Vhagar. Visenya Targaryen was a great warrior. She had a Valyrian steel sword she called 'Dark Sister'."

Jon Snow, of course, is called Aegon Targaryen, and this quote nicely set it up for Arya to have just as important a role in the endgame as her 'brother', right down to being a great warrior and having a Valyrian steel weapon. It's especially fitting that it's Visenya whom Arya admires so greatly: not only was she a warrior, but is said to have possessed a "harsher, more austere" beauty than her sister, Rhaenys, not dissimiliar to how descriptions of Arya compare her to Sansa.
