Game Of Thrones Power Rankings: Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken

1. Littlefinger

Petyr Baelish has spent his whole life climbing the ladder. Every word he says, everything he does, all of it is part of a calculated move that gets him a few rungs higher each time. Now it may really be starting to pay off. We see how cleverly he has positioned himself in his conversation with Cersei, where he promises to deliver the North to the Lannisters, and in the process seems to sell out Sansa, in return for him being named Warden of it. This puts him in a win-win-win situation: If the Boltons win the forthcoming war, he€™s already on their side after arranging for Sansa to marry Ramsay; if Stannis wins, he has Sansa to use in negotiations with him; if they beat other into a bloody stalemate, he can ride in with the Lords of the Vale and claim Winterfell all for himself. It€™s an extremely risky and delicate balancing act, but that is exactly where Littlefinger thrives, and there a few who enjoy playing the Game quite as much as he does. It helps that he appears to be very good at it. If only he could do something about that accent, which wanders even more than the characters in the show.

NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far. A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
