Game Of Thrones: Ranking Every Major Battle From Worst To Best

21. Battle Of Oxcross

Game of Thrones Battle Of Oxcross
HBO

Another battle where we don't get to see much of the action, but one that does nonetheless earn some points for showcasing more of Robb's tactical ability.

Assaulting Ser Stafford Lannister's forces during the night, the highlight of the 'battle' involves two Lannister guards getting spooked, one playing a prank on the other, and then, just when the tension has dissipated, Grey Wind attacking. Add in the rousing KING IN THE NORTH chants and you've got the beginnings of something excellent, but sadly it ends before it's really started and cuts to when the fighting is over.

NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far. A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
