Game Of Thrones: Ranking The Probability Of Every Character Death At The Battle Of Winterfell
24. Samwell Tarly
After being a more background part of the show in the last couple of years, Samwell Tarly came to the forefront with an MVP showing in Winterfell. Is that a sign he's still important to the story, or reminding us of his existence before his impending doom?
The former seems more likely right now: Sam is the kind of character who really ought to survive the entire series, by virtue of not being your typical hero. His is the kind of loyalty and bravery that doesn't get fully recognised until towards the end, and he should be one of the unlikeliest of survivors because of how far he's come from being that craven, fresh-faced Night's Watch recruit.
Sam insisted he wanted to fight, but ultimately gives Heartsbane to Jorah and goes to be with Gilly and baby Sam, although even being in the Crypts presumably won't be as safe as people think. He might end up amongst the action, but he won't die.
Chance Of Death: 2/10
