Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Rumours Confirmed By The Trailer
3. Tower Of Joy
Nevermind Cersei choosing violence, Davos about to deliver some of his own, or the chills of Bran and the Night's King, the most exciting part of the trailer featured absolutely no recognisable actors. But it did feature at least one major character - Ned Stark. Yes, he's back, and he's bringing some friends with him. This is seemingly confirmation of the long-speculated Tower of Joy flashbacks for Season 6, witnessed with Stark leading his men into battle, and then embroiled in the fight with knights wearing the Targaryen sigil on their armour. The scene is an extremely crucial one in Thrones history, because the only ones to come away from it alive were Ned and his close friend Howland Reed, who so far hasn't been seen in the series (books or show). It's where Rhaegar Targaryen had Lyanna Stark locked-up after kidnapping her, protected by members of the Kingsguard, and is widely theorised to hold the key to the parentage of Jon Snow and the facts behind R+L=J. With the show doing this, it means that we could well be finding out the truth about Jon's parents as well, while getting to see an incredible moment from before the events of the series took place. Nevermind the tower, we should all be jumping for joy at the inclusion of this scene.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
