9. Flashbacks
Without dropping any key details from the source material - A Song Of Ice And Fire - or the countless feasible theories exploding on the internet, everyone is expecting flashbacks to play a heavy role in the coming season. Some filming locations have dropped clues for certain scenes which may be shown, though it's unclear how prominent they will be in Season 6.
They might not happen because... Game Of Thrones has never been a show that relies on simple flashbacks to uncover truths (aside from Cersei's prophecy). A lot of the narrative is unfurled from characters' points of view, with each faction putting their own spin on events. For example, Robert Baratheon described Rhaegar Targaryen as a monster, though Ser Barristan Selmy painted him as the finest man he ever met. There was no need for a flashback in this instance. There may be a short flashback, but don't expect multiple throughout.
