Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Home'

9. Jaime And The High Sparrow

Well, this scene went better than the last time Jaime stood next to the corpse of one of his children.

With Cersei prevented from attending her own daughter's funeral, it's left to Jaime to do the heavy lifting at this scene, and it's after a brief chat to Tommen (which actually does good work for the Boy King, fleshing out his character a little bit more while further proving he is a terrible king) that the excitement starts, as he spars with the High Sparrow.

We've seen Cersei and the Sparrow go at it in a battle of wits, so it was interesting to see Jaime up against him this time, given he was prepared for a bloodier solution, until the rest of the Faith appeared. It nicely sets up the Lannisters v Faith battle that's going to run for at least part of this season, and further exemplifies just how self-righteous the High Sparrow is.
