Yes, this is a genuine theory. Yes, it could easily turn out to be correct. Some believe that when Jon was killed, he warged into Ghost, in the same way Bran could warg into his own direwolf. The final shot of the trailer shows Davos and the traitors standing over Jon's body and Ghost, who we can only assume is still alive.
If this is the case, we could be about to witness some incredible TV scenes unlike anything we've seen before. It would be a not-too-contrived way for Snow to re-enter the show, and let's face it, being supernaturally paired with a wolf is too cool for it not to happen this way, we can only trust it will be sensational.
