Game Of Thrones Season 6: 8 Things You Might've Missed In 'Battle Of The Bastards'

7. Melisandre's Flames Were Right

Game of Thrones Curse Of King Robert Ned Robb Catelyn Rickon
HBO

After Stannis' death, Melisandre believed that everything she had seen in the flames was a lie. He wasn't Azor Ahai, the man to lead them through the Long Night, and she couldn't clearly see the future.

Except, well, these are the things she sees in the fire:

"I saw [Jon] in the flames, fighting at Winterfell."

"I have seen myself walk along the battlements of Winterfell. I have seen the flayed man banners lowered to the ground."

In this episode: Jon fought at Winterfell, Melisandre walked the battlements, and the banners of House Bolton fell to the ground, replaced by those of House Stark.

Melisandre totally called it.
