4. The Kingsguard

Jaime Lannister is stripped of his position as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard this week, and it's hard not to see the echoes between this firing by Tommen and the way Barristan Selmy was unceremoniously disposed of by Joffrey. Both had devoted their lives to the Kingsguard, both were the finest of their generation, and both were tossed aside for political reasons rather than anything to do with their abilities.

For Jaime, though, the writing was on the wall - or the breastplate - once he was met on the steps of the Sept by the Kingsguard. The remaining Knights were wearing some new armour, blending the crown with the seven-pointed star of the Faith, showing the union between the two.
