4. Why The Waif Was Killed Off-Screen

Although it was great that Arya managed to defeat the Waif, there were some complaints in the aftermath that we didn't get to see the death happen on screen. The conflict had been built up all year, after all, and fans wanted to witness the payoff.

However, there's a pretty simple reason why we didn't: the fight happened in the pitch black, and thus there wouldn't have actually been anything to watch.

There was also some confusion about the scenes leading up to that, given that Arya seemed to be in a lot of trouble before managing to defeat her with Needle. However, it was her plan to lure the Waif into the darkened cave, and that's why she deliberately leaves a handprint on the wall.
