Game Of Thrones Season 6 Finale: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Winds Of Winter'
3. Frey Pies
“My name is Arya Stark. I want you to know that. The last thing you’re ever going to see is a Stark smiling down at you as you die.”
It was sweet when Arya uttered her name to Jaqen H'ghar. It was even sweeter when she said it here. Revenge is a dish best served cold, and Arya Stark is now one of the coldest, most ruthless characters on the entire show.
Is that entirely a good thing? I'm not so sure. She has lost so much of herself, which isn't a surprise given all she's been through, and we may not know how much of Arya truly exists, or what her future will hold, until she finally makes it back home and is reunited with her brother and sister.
But until then, let's just enjoy her crossing a name off the list. Walder Frey is a despicable man, from the moment we first met him right to the very last, as he sexually harasses the young serving girl Arya is disguised as. He murdered Robb and Catelyn, and boasted about it long afterwards. He deserved to die, and deserved to see a Stark smiling down at him as it happened. The show finally incorporating the Frey pies storyline was simply the icing on the cake. Or the crust on the pie.
