Game of Thrones Season 6: 10 Things That Absolutely Shouldn’t Happen

(or 'How To Murder Game Of Thrones In 10 Easy Steps)

Ironborn Dorne Game Of Thrones
HBO

Across the five existing seasons of Game Of Thrones, fans have been subjected to Theon-level torture when it comes to their favourite characters. Ned was the main man, but his head ended up rotting on a spike. Then Robb took his place, "This guy is great," said everyone. Of course he was mercilessly butchered alongside his pregnant wife and honourable mother. Well, at least Jon Snow's still alive... Oh.

Often the moments that no sane individual could predict are the greatest in the show. They're certainly the most memorable, with that selection of death providing some of the most jaw-dropping moments in modern TV. That's no exaggeration, they were all staggering in their own right.

But the one theme running throughout those harrowing scenes is that the deaths paved the way for world-shaping developments. Ned's demise sparked the Northern rebellion, the Red Wedding threw the world into total turmoil, and Jon's death is hopefully going to lead nicely into Jon's comeback (right?). But there are moments that simply go too far without any justification.

The show could eliminate any character it chooses, and implement any feature, theme, or storyline it can possibly imagine, but that doesn't mean they should. The vast majority of fans are happy going with the flow regardless, though there are a few things that simply can't be allowed to happen in Season 6 for the good of the show.

10. Sansa Gets Recaptured

Sansa Stark Mother's Mercy
HBO

Leave. Sansa. Alone. She's been shown all manner of awfulness throughout her time on the show, ranging from seeing her own father's impaled head, being betrothed to a sadistic sociopath, before fleeing to another betrothal to another sadistic sociopath.

It has been a rocky, and at times highly controversial, road for Sansa who could make a strong claim for being the worst treated innocent character on the show, with her rape at the will of Ramsay Bolton being her lowest personal ebb.

Sansa has finally made a break for it, and she's really starting to grasp 'the game' as we enter the sixth season. It would be an enormous shame to see her recaptured and taken back to square one after such a mighty effort to develop.
