Game Of Thrones Season 7: 10 Big Questions After 'Eastwatch'
9. Or Will It End With Him Dead?
So, if his plan doesn't work - even if it might come awfully close - what does failure mean for Littlefinger?
If he's trying to take down the Starks - or at least manipulate them to his advantage - then it's difficult to see how he could be allowed to live, should they get wind of it and stop him in his tracks.
So that puts one of them - presumably Arya since she has that dagger, although Brienne is surely still sitting around Winterfell for some bigger purpose - in the position of being his murderer.
But there's still Littlefinger's position as Lord of the Vale to consider. He commands an impressive army (albeit one who may well take Sansa's side over his), and it's not like he's a Stark bannerman, which presents more political difficulty in offing him. There are some very murky waters to navigate here, though looking beyond this season it is hard to see where Baelish fits in, which means death remains the most likely option for the character - unless he can run back to the Eyrie and hole up there before the storm arrives.
