Game Of Thrones Season 7: 10 Huge Shocks That Could Happen

9. Major Deaths In The First Episode

Given that we're at the business end of Game Of Thrones now and there are only 13 episodes to go (assuming HBO even commit to the six expected for the final season), and that the cast remains pretty big, it goes without saying that we will see lots of death this season.

It's beginning to look increasingly uncomfortable for fringe characters and supporting figures who won't ultimately have a say in the climax of the Great Game (something we have to come to before the Great War), and no matter how interesting they are, we're going to have to prepare to say goodbye.

And we're going to have to accept that they'll come quicker than they used to, with a reduced episode number and lots of things to get through. Up until the fourth season, nobody of note died in episode one, but then Mance Rayder bought it in Season 5 Episode 1 and the first chapter of season 6 saw the Martells slaughtered by their own. Like it or, we're probably going to see even more notable deaths in the opening of season 7, if only so HBO know we're prepared for a tumultuous, bloody final season.

Unfortunately, this is probably close to a certainty, but if it's Tormund, Pod or Bronn, there'll be riots.
