Game Of Thrones Season 7: 10 Quotes Which Foreshadow Big Things In Season 8
5. Olenna Tyrell: "You Poor Fool. She'll Be The End Of You."
When Was It Said? Episode Three: The Queen’s Justice
With some of her cutting parting words after the Lannister army stormed Highgarden, the Queen of Thorns warned Jaime that his beloved sister Cersei will lead him to his death.
What Does It Mean? As a young girl, Cersei visited reputed fortune teller Maggy the frog, who prophesied, among other things, that she would die at the hands of the valonqar - the Valyrian translation for which is 'little brother'. Maggy correctly predicted that Cersei would have three children who would all die before her, so she has reason to fear the prophecy.
Considering the hatred between her and Tyrion, compared to the love between her and Jaime in the early seasons of GOT, it seemed likely that it would be her dwarf brother who killed Cersei. However, Jaime’s slow moral transformation - completed by his abandonment of the Queen in the series seven finale - puts him in the frame to be the valonqar, also.
Now that they are fighting on opposing sides, it seems very possible that Jaime could save the Seven Kingdoms by killing the demented Cersei, mirroring his murder of the Mad King. Equally poetic, if not regretful, would be if Jaime died alongside her, simultaneously killed by Cersei. Either way, it seems appropriate that there season eight fates be intertwined.
