Game Of Thrones Season 7: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Spoils Of War'

2. BRONN!

Game of Thrones Jaime Bronn
HBO

The Queen's Justice gave us the tiniest hint of Bronn, showing him behind Jaime at Highgarden, but didn't give him any more screentime or a single line of dialgoue.

We can now forget that though, because Seven Hells does The Spoils of War make up for it when it comes to everyone's favourite singing sellsword.

If we look at this as being similar to the Battle of the Bastards, then it's Bronn cast in the role of Jon Snow, as we follow him through the battle. It's intense, and more than a little worrying as, unlike Jaime or Daenerys, there's a real chance Bronn could actually be killed here, but also speaks to his character: we see his motivations, and he survives thanks to a combination of luck and the quick-thinking we know he possesses.

Even before this battle I had Bronn noted as a strong talking point, because he was already having a very good episode. He had a couple of brilliant lines, and his derisory laugh at the name Dickon was as hilarious as it was childish. That's the Bronn we know and love, clearly on display.

And then he took on a f**king dragon. No, he didn't kill it, and yes, he's very lucky to have survived (neither a bad thing), but f**k me, if anyone was going to be shooting at a dragon with Qyburn's Scorpion, I am so glad it was Bronn.

And if all that wasn't enough, he saves the day again at the end. Sure, he might be in it for the money, but there's something refreshingly open about that, and he still manages to be a bloody hero.
